ISMA Australia Excellence Award
I saw the story of the last ten years of Greg Mortinson’s existence branch and fork with richness and complexity far beyond what most of us has achieve over the course of a full length life. (Excerpt from Three cups of tea: One man’s mission to promote peace. One school at a time)
There are those who are blessed with knowledge, though meagre in comparison to others, but suffice to make changes that move mountains. Suffice to make changes that would extend beyond his years.
A perfect elucidation of the beautiful hadith:
Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.
The baton of knowledge has been passed down to us; there will come a time in which this baton is to be passed down to the next generation, the future generation beyond.
“If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.” (Margaret Fuller)
Along with this baton, is an emanation of light that will continue enlightening the society – our precious ummah – inculcating the minds. For the implication to have knowledge is to appreciate Allah’s creation more- as we acquaint with Allah’s perfect, majestic and omnipotent attributes and qualities – only then will the hearts wholeheartedly submit to Him humbly, witnessing that his Creator is the only one worthy of worship.
As long as this baton is being passed down, our contribution will live even though we have long expired.
Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have been granted knowledge to high ranks. (Qur’an)
Knowledge and virtue is not just power, but it is the answer. To be part of this chain, or not to be – that is the question.
Emanation of goodness is to tread in the path leading to paradise. Knowledge is goodness. Hence, let us embark on the road to paradise.
And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge. (Qur’an, Ta-Ha 20:114)
To celebrate and honour those who are in the chain of knowledge, ISMA Australia proudly presents the ISMA Excellence Award. This award will be given to those who achieve First Class results i.e. H1’s or HD’s especially in semester 2 2009. Best students being the ones who achieve straight H1’s or HD’s will receive the Best Student Award and will be published on the ISMA Australia website as well. The awards will be given in ISMA Australia’s Academic Day that will be held early next year.
Let’s be amongst the ones who strive and achieve success insyaAllah. I pray that we all be successful both in this dunia and the hereafter. Ameen.
